ManTech Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Analyst in Arlington, Virginia

ManTech is seeking a FOIA Analyst to join our growing team supporting our USMC contract at the Pentagon.

This role requires an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.

General Responsibilities :

  • Must be capable of building both Information and Action Packages for Senior Leadership review (specific templates and guidelines will be provided by the team lead) with a recommendation as to whether each FOIA request does or does not meet one of the nine exemptions 5 USC §552. Recommendations will be reviewed by the Office of General Counsel, prior to final approval by Senior Leadership.

  • Determine whether or not the release of government information would cause damage to U.S. national security, based on 5 USC §552.

  • Meet tight schedules and deadlines, utilizing all available resources to achieve results, and display a strong personal commitment to successfully complete all assigned projects.

  • Coordinate and maintain positive relationships with other national security professionals.

  • Review and process all I&S FOIA requests to include coordinating with respective stakeholders.

  • Review and process all OUSD(I&S) Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, in a thorough and expedient manner.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree and four (4) years experience, seven (7) years of related experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • Possess basic familiarity with United States Code: 5 USC §552 – A law that gives the public access to their records (the Freedom of Information Act).

  • Will be required to be conversant in both FOIA requests, government responses, and have no less than three (3) years of experience working FOIA requests on behalf of a U.S. government Agency.

  • Must be capable of handling large datasets, be highly fluent with the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PPT, and the utilization and search of advanced web-tools. (Technical Expertise)

  • Will be required to have superb communication and collaboration skills, in order to coordinate the FOIA responses with all stakeholders, both within OUSD(I&S) and across the Federal government.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

For all positions requiring access to technology/software source code that is subject to export control laws, employment with the company is contingent on either verifying U.S.-person status or obtaining any necessary license.
