Summary: Under the leadership of the Raw Business Manager - Poultry, the Raw Business Analyst will be support the development, implementation, and oversight of raw material sourcing, carcass utilization and raw sales initiatives. This position identifies, quantifies, analyzes, and recommends improvements/optimization of existing and new suppliers as well as existing and new raw customers and product launches. The role will be the lead project manager for strategic poultry initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Analyzes current supplier performance and compliance, as well as monitor supplier mix. Responsible for analyzing and reporting on long range raw supply and demand by product type, species, attribute relative to supplier availability. (30%)

2. Assists with the strategic sourcing, planning and oversight of existing ABF Chicken deboning programs and Better Chicken Commitment, including managing new supplier and raw further processor onboarding. (20%)

3. Assists Business Manager with supplier relationships including attending weekly calls and managing communications as directed. (20%)

4. Responsible for managing the review, renewal, and creation of Poultry Supply Agreements . Assist Fresh Meat Brand Manager with Poultry Category Management of raw poultry sales. (15%)

5. Manage poultry standard costs and COGS variance accounting as well as oversee quarterly strategic souring and raw selling plans. (15%)

6. Responsible for maintaining Vendor and Spec Document Library for Poultry.

7. Contributes, participates, and suggests improvements to the business short term SIOPS (Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning) and long range IBP (Integrated Business Planning) processes.

8. Manage improvement projects and\or participate in critical business discussions with suppliers and customers to meet Applegate’s Strategic Goals

9. Works cross functionally with R&D, QA, Accounting and Fulfillment on supplier and customer complaints, claims, compliance, and new item creation.

10. Support Raw Supply Team as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in food/ag business and or meat/poultry science

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience related to poultry

• Experience with food purchasing, sales, production, and or processing in a value chain setting

• Excellent attention to detail and thorough follow through and communication skills

• Strong quantitative analysis skills

• Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)

• Ability to adhere to deadlines

• Ability to follow projects from development through implementation

• Self-motivated, fast learner, willing to research areas or tasks that are unfamiliar

• Proficient in and Microsoft Office Applications; Word and PowerPoint

• Advanced-proficient in Excel: Familiarity with using v-lookup, conditional statements, formulas, and calculations

• Ability to operate in a collaborative and cross-functional organization

• Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
