The Northern Arizona University College of Nursing continues to build a world-class team of curious, creative, scholarly, and responsive faculty and leaders to positively impact the nursing profession in Arizona and beyond. Nursing offers the undergraduate program at locations around the state of Arizona including Flagstaff, Phoenix (North Valley), Tucson, and Yuma. Some degree programs are also offered online. The College of Nursing is growing to meet the demand for nurses around the state, especially in rural and underserved areas.

About the Position

The Northern Arizona University College of Nursing (CoN) is seeking an Associate Dean. This person will be an integral part of the College\'s executive team, working closely with the Dean, Associate Dean, Directors, faculty, and staff to advance the educational, scholarship, student success, and outreach missions of the College of Nursing. This position supports the vision, direction, and organization initiatives with the overall mission of advancing unit goals.

This position is a full-time appointment that reports to the Dean. This position is a fiscal-year appointment, is eligible for renewal, thereafter, pending satisfactory performance and the needs of the college. The position oversees all issues related to student and faculty affairs in the broadest possible terms. Some evenings and weekend availability. Travel is required.

The following list describes the major job functions that encompass the position responsibilities but will be modified as needed and appropriate by the Dean of the College.

Responsibilities Include:

Leadership

  • Contribute to the development of the CoN mission, vision, and strategic pl n in collaboration with the Dean, Associate Deans, Directors, faculty, and staff
  • Contribute to planning and application for new academic programs and degrees in partnership with the Dean, and Directors
  • Represent the College on University committees
  • Lead and coordinate CoN recruitment efforts working in collaboration with advising, student support services, and other campus entities
  • Represent the College in the Dean\'s absence (travel, vacation) as needed
  • Support fundraising initiatives consistent with CoN priorities
  • Disseminate best practices in program effectiveness
  • Administrative oversight of academic policies and procedures, existing program modifications, academic status reviews, self-studies and accreditation documents

Student Success

Work with the Dean, Directors, and the Graduate College to promote and enhance quality undergraduate and graduate education

Serve as the CoN liaison for Student Support Services, Career Development, Office of Undergraduate Research and University Advising, and other Academic Success units, as needed

Work with the Dean, and Directors to implement the NAU Academic Integrity Policy

Respond to University officials, parents, and students, as appropriate, regarding student issu
