GVEA is an electric cooperative which maintains 3,292 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 40 substations, and 9 generating facilities. YOUR DAY TO DAY AS A ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING SYSTEMS (EMS) TECHNICIAN

Join our team at Golden Valley Electric Association as the Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS) Technician at the Healy Power Plant in Alaska. In this role, you will be responsible for the critical maintenance and operation of environmental monitoring and compliance systems, ensuring the highest standards of data quality and recordkeeping. With a focus on emissions control, you will manage systems such as the continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS) for Unit 1 and Unit 2, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) inlet nitrogen oxides emission monitoring systems (NEMS), and the Unit 2 Hg process monitor. WHAT MATTERS MOST

To excel as the Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS) Technician at Golden Valley Electric Association's Healy Power Plant, candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with valid first aid and CPR cards (or the ability to obtain them within 30 days of hire). A valid driver's license is required for this role. Additionally, applicants should have a minimum of two years of experience in effectively operating and calibrating gas analyzers or similar laboratory equipment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
