Hyatt Executive Meeting Manager in ISLE OF PALMS, South Carolina

The Resort, also known as Charleston’s Island Resort, is located just 30 minutes from the charm and grace of historic downtown Charleston, is the largest resort of its kind in the region, offering accommodations for groups of up to 650 people and the chance for leisure guests to enjoy a Lowcountry getaway. We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual with experience in driving sales revenues for hotels or resorts to join our team as a Sales Manager. This role is a key position responsible for proactively soliciting and managing group business in the assigned vertical markets and the assigned geographical market. Actively up-sells to maximize revenue opportunities. Achieves personal and team-related revenue goals. Ensures business is turned over properly and timely for proper service delivery. Responsible for driving customer & guest loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer/guest experience. Provides service to customers to continue to grow the account.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales goals, be creative and a problem solver, be a team player, be open to learning and leading by example, and respond professionally and courteously to guests and the team. This position handles 25 Group Room Nights or less and supports the sales team.

Responsibilities:

· Achieving/producing revenue (to goal)

· Create and generate professional proposals and contracts in response to leads, inquiries, and prospecting efforts.

· Building long-term client relations.

· Daily conversion of incoming inquiries, close client contracts, and the communication of event details tovarious departments

· Ensure accuracy in all correspondence, including but not limited to contracts, and proposals

· Field incoming leads for the sales team and disperse to the correct sales manager in a timely fashion

· Assist sales managers with daily inquiries, site tours, or other sales activities in their absence.

· Conduct ongoing market research to stay in touch with the competition, client needs, and marketing conditions.

· Design packages consistent with the market needs.

· Solicitation/creation of new sales leads, cold calling, direct mail,

· Solicitation of repeat group business

· Immediate and effective response to all inquiries

· Limited weekend hours based on client needs

  • Communicate customer/group needs to hotel/island staff

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. This position is eligible for incentive pay based on production.

Qualifications:

  • Must have interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, and organizational skills required

  • Prefer selling, business writing, and presentation skills training

  • A genuine desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred

  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, communications, or a similar field preferred

  • Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; this position is not visa-supported.
