Lakeside Chautauqua Seasonal Night Auditor in Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio

Position Summary: 

Hotel night audit associates check guests in and out of hotel, provide excellent customer service to everyone they are in contact with, knowledgeable of Lakeside Chautauqua happenings & events. Night audit associates reports to the hotel supervisor. Shift requirements are 11p to 7a; holidays and weekends are required. Up to 40 hours a week are available, scheduling is flexible based on business demands. Set shifts/schedules are not guaranteed. Position may turn into year-round employment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Communicate clearly to guests

May be required to take hotel reservations over the phone and in person

May be required to check guests in and out of hotel rooms

Cleaning of front desk, lobby, restrooms & public spaces as requested, needed & required

Cross-training of day & evening shift required (2-3 shifts each, prior to being placed on night audit shift)

May be required to help guests with luggage (up to 50lbs lifting, possible)

Required to stay awake for 8-hour overnight shifts

Complete audit paperwork required by Lakeside Association with accuracy

Education and/or Experience:

Previous hotel front desk/night audit or customer service experience not required but preferred. Previous light accounting knowledge & spreadsheet knowledge preferred. On-the-job training provided. High school diploma preferred. Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the operation.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, portions, percentages and to apply the basic math concepts.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions where only limited and standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
