Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Adult Intensive Treatment Center at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC) - West Bank location in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Schedule : This position will be working

• 0.7 FTE | 56 hours every 2 weeks.

• Evening Shift.

• 8-hour shifts

• Every other weekend

About Our Adult Intensive Treatment Center Department at UMMC West Bank :

• The unit has 14 beds in all private rooms with two pods to isolate patients when vital.

• The team consists of - 2 attending psychiatrists, 2 CTCs (social workers), 1 Occupational therapist, 17 RNs, and 25 psychiatric associates. Chaplains, diversity specialists, and medical providers are shared with other units.

• Station 12 is our most acute unit in the hospital and generally manages aggressive, assaultive patients or those who are highly disorganized and/or psychotic.

• Certainly one of our most exciting units to work on, but if you have the temperament, this is easily the most rewarding unit in terms of gaining new knowledge and relevant experience.

• Staffing ratios in this unit are better due to the acuity and there is always plenty of support in managing this population.

Responsibilities Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Adult Inpatient Mental Health Department, you will be responsible for:

• Utilizing a detailed process to assess the physical and mental health needs of the patient, which will provide a framework from which patient care is planned [knows disease processes, therapy, complications, expected outcomes for specific patient population(s)]

• Contributing to the development of an individualized treatment plan in collaboration with the inter-disciplinary team providing a comprehensive plan of care.

• Administering medications according to a policy used for the management of behavioral patients with knowledge of actions, contraindications, side effects, and desired outcomes.

• Evaluating the effectiveness of the nursing interventions in meeting the identified emotional, psychological, and physical needs, making revisions based on these outcomes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications :

• Current MN RN License

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• 1 year of Mental Health experience (preferred in the last 5 years)

Preferred Qualifications :

• Bachelor of Nursing (BSN)

• 1 year of Mental Health experience in the last 3 years.
