Garfield County School District No. 16 Seasonal Groundskeeper in Parachute, Colorado

Job Title: Seasonal Groundskeeper Job Family: Classified Department: Maintenance Typical Work Year: Summer 2024 FLSA Status: Non-exempt Pay Range: $15.00 per hour Job ID#: 1287

Position Summary: Responsible for various functions all relating to the general upkeep and maintenance of building grounds and other outside activity areas during the summer season. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.

Position Accountabilities: Maintains district lawns and grounds, trees, and shrubbery. Controls weeds and animal pests. Performs irrigation maintenance functions. Responsible for maintaining all grounds equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Position Requirements/Skills:

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING High school diploma or equivalent (must be 18 or older)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE Less than one year One to three years preferred

SKILL REQUIREMENTS Ability to communicate effectively Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment, helpful Ability to operate hand and some power tools effectively and safely

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS Flexibility Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and co-workers Maintains a positive attitude Observes all district policies and procedures

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION Colorado driver's license

ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS Noise; dirt and dust; odors and fumes; hazardous materials or situations; possible temperature extremes

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Capable or lifting 100 lbs. Maximum, up to 50 lbs. Frequently Frequent bending, standing, reaching, and walking Occasional squatting, sitting, climbing, kneeling, and stooping Periodic repetitive motion
