IT Software Engineer) –Materials Compliance System Administrator

BASIC FUNCTION

This position is located in Mohali, India or Manila in Philippines. The position reports to the Corporate Information Technology - Product Materials Compliance Team. Responsible for all technical tasks involved with web-based applications in direct support and administration of the Materials Compliance Software for managing EU REACH, EU RoHS, Conflict Minerals, Extended Producer Responsibility (WEE’s, Packaging and Batteries) and other compliance legislations for Copeland products, in support of product stewardship. These individual guides the compliance staff and customers on best practices for product materials compliance and performs multiple operational and project tasks such as data load support, development, testing, deployment, installation, training and configuration of new software releases. In addition, provides post-implementation system monitoring and technical product support to the user community. The software is deployed among two platforms in multiple business units globally. The position interacts with global compliance users and customers daily. The position is expected to work flexible shifts that align with the PMC teams Globally.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides second-level application support for application users; problem solving, developing solutions, performance monitoring and improvement, change management, system management, on-call support.

  • Application support and administration includes gathering requirements, development, installation, testing, configuration updates, deployments, and changes in multiple environments – Stage and Production in collaboration with architecture, security, business, and IT stakeholders.

  • Provides business assessment of enhancement requests for developed or purchased software.

  • Provides technical resolutions to system issues impacting platform and business unit related work.

  • Maintaining the overall health and integrity of the (PMC) Product Materials Compliance environments.

  • Support Service Level Agreement performance metrics till resolution for internal and external software service desk tickets.

  • Cross-Functional application alignment and reporting with our compliance vendor

  • Performs troubleshooting, investigation and resolution of issues affecting (Stage and Production).

  • Responsible for the development, management, maintenance, performance and issue resolution of batch processes, and data transfer mappings.

  • Able to conduct successful knowledge transfer and training sessions with the team.

  • Participates in projects and accomplishing required tasks to contribute to the achievement of project milestones and overall objectives.

  • Supports customers by understanding data (hierarchical and non-hierarchical) and business processes impacting the application.

  • Perform the agreed-on action plans / tasks to achieve individual metrics and contribute to the achievement of the team goals.

  • Manage and support the process and procedures involved with maintaining IT Ticket Systems.

EDUCATION / LANGUAGE

BA/BS in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science or Computer Science, Information Technology is required.

Excellent communication skills; verbal and written proficiency in English.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

  • Product Materials Compliance (Primary)

Knowledgeable of Global Environmental Legislations and tracking of products via software such as Compliance Map (CMap) or other substance compliance applications with REACH, m Extended Producer Responsibility (WEE’s, Packaging and Batteries).

  • Expertise in chemical substances used in manufactured products and production environment.

  • Knowledgeable on current Global Environmental Legations such as EU REACH, EU RoHS, Conflict Minerals, Extended Producer Responsibility (WEE’s, Packaging and Batteries) and other monitored substances.

  • Working knowledge on materials and chemicals

  • Information Technology (Secondary)

  • Experience in application development support, installation, setup, administration and tuning specifically with Environmental and Product Materials Compliance software.

  • Coordination of software Prerequisites and Patches.

  • Understanding infrastructure requirements pertaining to server, database, and desktop requirements, i.e. CPU, RAM, Storage, etc. and must effectively communicate and coordinate these requirements with the various local IT support teams.

  • Work with different IT Information Technologies teams such as (Windows, Network, Storage, Database) to manage the compliance instance.

  • General Knowledge

  • Proficient in MS Office.

  • Understanding of engineering Bill of Materials (assemblies, sub-assemblies, component parts / articles and related substances) (i.e. Siemens Teamcenter, Agile, Windchill, or other Engineering/PLM software)

  • Working knowledge with file formats such as xlsx, xml, pdf, csv.

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Individual should have had knowledge of the Compliance Process Flow

  • Data collection process, rule groups, regulations, articles, parts, BOM’s, chemicals and substances

  • Detailed understanding of the administrative requirements of a compliance software system and the peripheral tool in use is a necessity.

  • Individual should understand engineering systems and the related data respective of compliance systems.

  • Exceptional customer service orientation including written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively work in a team environment.

  • Ability to define, organize and self-manage workload around defined project milestone to meet project goals and deadlines in a multi-project environment.

  • Must be able to multitask, evaluate high priorities and deliver quality performance under pressure with clear communication channels.

  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new products, technologies and business portfolios.

  • Good presentation and reporting skills.

  • Good problem-solving skills and effectively identifies and evaluates root cause and alternative solutions.

  • Perform the agreed-on action plans / tasks to achieve individual metrics and contribute to the achievement of the team goals.
