We are currently seeking a Business Analyst. The Business Analyst plays a key role to support the decision process of selecting, optimizing, prioritizing and executing projects, managing the deployment of services and evaluating/monitoring operational and financial benefits as they relate to the CCL Finance organization. This role will play an active role in projects related to Fleet Finance Operations functions, and is responsible for ensuring the success of project delivery in terms of functionality and quality. The role may work in conjunction with other teams within CCL Finance, Hotel Operations, Marine Operations, Technical Operations, Guest Logistics, Groups, etc. to insure Wecohesiveness with corporate goals and initiatives. The Business Analyst reports directly to the Manager Financial Technology. This individual works closely with IT, business users and any other departments as needed to support the development and implementation of new business practices through system automation.
Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for project business requirements; develop business cases. Participate in meetings to understand business requirements to enhance systems.
Perform all testing activities related to financial software used in the department to ensure new system functionality works as defined and system defects are corrected prior to implementation.
Provide direction to IT personnel.
Identify best, efficient, and cost beneficial solutions when business processes are being implemented and require input or output from critical systems supporting shipboard financial operations.
Provide insights on the current functionality of the applications that are used by the department as well as possible enhancements to these systems.
Ensure all systems are performing efficiently, reporting issues and monitoring timely resolution.
Support Shipboard Financial Analytics team in implementation and enhancement of business reporting (i.e. scorecards, KPIs).
Serve as SME for analyzing, testing and coordinating ship start-ups and dry-docks, as it relates to Fleet Finance Operations.
Submit/prioritize CQ defects and content management cases that impact Fleet Finance Operations. Maintain up to date project progress in Daptiv.
Document project related information, changes in process flows, procedures, etc.
Lead the change management process with the business to ensure business readiness.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Accounting, Finance, or related field of study; or any combination of relevant background, skills and experience.
BA certification preferred.
PMP certification a plus.
Experience in business/finance and analysis processes with a working knowledge in accounting principles. Experience in project management on software development projects is a plus.
Shipboard experience is a plus, cruise industry related experience preferred.
Practical experience testing of enterprise size financial applications is required.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and planning skills.
Able to multi-task, work independently and balance requests at peak workloads (or change gears quickly for important requests) from various departments and upper management.
General knowledge of infrastructure requirements, databases and networks.
Good understanding of financial data analysis tools and systems such as Oracle Financials, Hyperion Essbase, Tableau, or OBIEE.
Must have strong command of Microsoft Office programs.
The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost degree of care, integrity, and discretion.
Must pose a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
