The Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated Business Analyst, New Builds who will lead the analysis for new builds in supporting the Project Manager and Program Manager for all builds of HA Group. This role will typically be challenged with working closely with multiple stakeholders to gather requirements, as well as working closely with IT teams to help build proper quality assurance.

  • Analyzes and defines business area and department specific objectives, strategies and processes; recommends system changes or enhancements and/or development opportunities.

  • Administers business requirements for various systems within the newbuild environment.

  • Helps manage testing protocols and quality assurance for new builds through all phases of the delivery (staging, UAT, delivery), liaising closely with various IT and business teams.

  • Applies information technology development methodology to identify business processes, system solutions and modifications.

  • Develops functional specifications and test plans, coordinates testing, resource allocations, meetings, status updates, and presentations.

  • Formulates and communicates process and procedure changes.

  • Various administrative tasks in support of the New Build group including assisting with budget preparation.

  • Coordinate vendor services and support; review support contracts as required.

  • Oversee logistics for the New Build team, coordinating all areas of shipments.

  • Helps identify areas of program risks and helps develop mitigation plans.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Systems Analysis.

  • Proficiency in the understanding of the structure and deployment of IT & business systems, experience in the cruise industry preferred.

  • Detail oriented, possess solid analytical, interpersonal, documentation, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to interact with employees, management, and users.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, independently lead an implementation team, and perform in an individual or team environment.

  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel, including occasional visits to the ships in the fleets
