The Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated HRIS Analyst II who is responsible for managing and maintaining the Auto Rotations Tool (ART), the program used for scheduling crew members across our fleets and optimizing crew rotations within operational needs and business guidelines across all brands within HA Group (Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, P&O Australia). Reports to the Director of HRIS and Strategic Projects.

  • Processes and assigns crew rotations by running and/or monitoring Automated Rotations Tool to staff multiple ranks and departments over multiple assignment periods across all brands

  • Identifies exceptions/outliers and adjusts assignment results to account for abnormalities while identifying causes to correct output and also recommend data input optimization and improvements

  • Analyzes and tests different crew rotation scenarios to arrive at the lowest cost and highest quality crew rotation solutions

  • Promptly identifies questionable data and determines causes of unexpected errors and or discrepancies

  • Ensures crew rotation plans comply with contract rules and operational guidelines as agreed by business units

  • Prepares and presents analyses and reports to Management which trends crew assignment performance and travel cost

  • Reports summary metrics to describe Automated Rotations Tool performance over multiple ranks and assignment periods

  • Analyzes crew utilization and build strategies to optimize air travel cost while maintaining optimal service level for crew member and operational department

  • Monitors Automated Rotations Tool data output to allow for quick and easy access to data needed for decision making

  • System administrator for ART

  • Clearly logs and communicates change requests from Management to I.T. and programmers, and follows up with testing/validation of changes

  • Provides initial technical support for ART and works with IT and programmers on resolution


  • BA/BS In Operations Management, Management Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics or related fields

  • 5+ years’ experience in a related position in a business environment

  • Must have strong skills in writing SQL queries and understanding SQL code

  • Knowledge of Linear Programs and optimization

  • Strong MS Excel skills, specifically with Visual Basic macros

  • Experience in data mining

  • Excellent interpersonal and organization skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Analytical business experience preferred
