The Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated Manager, Fleet Cost Management who will oversee the management of Human Resources costs associated with the departments' operations, manning, and training expenditures for the Holland America Group in Santa Clarita and Seattle.

  • Monitors and analyzes shoreside overhead expenses.

  • Researches and collects financial information from various vessels, departments, and manning offices to provide comparison reports.

  • Prepares updated monthly forecasts for input into Cognos budgeting system.

  • Conducts monthly financial reviews with all areas to present actual financial performance and forecast future expenses.

  • Oversees the coding process to ensure invoices are paid as budgeted.

  • Manages the annual budget data collection process within deadlines. Partners with users to create templates and bottom-up budgets.

  • Provides guidance for cost assumptions based on run rates.

  • Responds to HR Solutions tickets in a timely manner with value added solutions.

  • Works collaboratively with Finance team members to improve business results and meet customers’ objectives.

  • Develops comprehensive annual strategy report for all related budget areas and recommends process enhancements.

  • Leads the implementation of the Cognos budgeting system enhancements for Human Resources and the Company.

  • Provides coaching and development opportunities to staff, defines goals and priorities, and completes and delivers performance reviews.

  • Completes job duties within established SOX guidelines and recommends changes to flowcharts as appropriate.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience.

  • 7+ years of experience in managing accounting systems and processes with progressively responsible management experience.

  • Well-developed planning, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Must be highly analytical with a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and working knowledge of computerized accounting/budgeting systems (i.e., Cognos).


  • Working knowledge of HR concepts, practices, and procedures.
