The Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated Programmer Analyst II who will join the Human Resources Systems Team. You will be part of a team working to develop and support applications for fleet HR and Payroll. The ideal candidate will have the ability to quickly learn and understand business processes as well as vendor and in-house developed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design responsive web pages for employee portals

  • Develop integrations to both internal and external systems

  • Create and consume web services

  • Employ sound database design principles and team coding standards in the design of databases

  • Speak the language of business users as well as IT-speak and translate between the two realms

  • Be comfortable gathering requirements when called upon

  • Plan and coordinate upgrades, enhancements, and deployments to 40+ vessel fleet as needed

  • Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting and support for your apps when required

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ web programming experience on the Microsoft stack (C# w/ MVC, latest .NET Framework)

  • 3+ years’ SQL development experience

  • UI design experience

  • Experience programming and deploying code in a segregated DEV/UAT/PROD environment

  • Ability to identify and mitigate problems that pose a risk to project timelines

  • Experience in HTML5, web services, JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, and CSS3

  • Ability to coordinate multiple deliverables with different priorities and timelines

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic

  • Position requires candidate to work on-site

  • Able to comply with all company rules and regulations

Preferences

  • Prior intranet and or CMS experience a plus

  • Work with Handlebars.js a plus
